10/19/06: SIRIUS ASTROLOGY GROUP MEETING
October 19, 2006 Sirius Astrology Meeting started at 7pm
Second House:
First, we looked at the AstroClock for the day using the Kepler program. We looked at the important aspects for that day and related it to the attendees' charts. We then moved on to looking at different astrologers interpretation of the second house using Deborah Houlding's book “The Houses, Temples of the Sky”. We discussed the 2nd interpretations by different authors on page 30 of this book:
Second House Associations Through History:
- Manilius: Unfortunate. The abode of Typhon
- Others (classical): Livelihood; profit; inheritance, estate; fortune; business; gain. Intercourse with women.
- Firmicus: Increase in personal hopes and material possessions. Expectation of inheritance and wealth. Passive and debilitated because it does not aspect the ascendant. 'Gate of Hell' (Anaphora).
- Al-Biruni: Nutriment; livelihood; assistants. Profession of children (10th from the 5th)
- Lilly: Estate, fortunate, substance, wealth and poverty. Moveable goods.
- Modern: Financial matters and possessions. Resources which support the physical body. Income. Feelings.”

We compared these interpretations to some of the attendees' charts. The classical interpretations made sense. There was one attendee that has a very strong 2nd house. His experience was that he was very poor but help and resources were always around him. The same is true with one of the other attendees.
We also discussed what “Typhon” means and tried to relate to it but we were not successful doing so.
The meeting was fun and exciting. Meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm
