November 16, 2005 Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Gary, Stuart, Fred, Stephanie, Michelle, Fei, Katarina, David, and Suqi (the dog, our time keeper)
* Everyone at the meeting agreed to have some snacks at the meeting. Katarina volunteered to bring the snacks. Some of us contributed a few $ to help Katarina's expenses to prepare the snacks.
* David announced Don Cerow's lecture at Avalon on March 25-26, 2006. Giselle Terri's ethics seminars on April 15-16, and April 22 to 23. Details about the seminars at Avalon can be found at Avalon's web site: http://www.avalonastrology.com/
11th house discussions:
* According to the Vedic System, this house is gains of all kinds, income, fulfillment of desires, nature of earnings, rewards, recognition, profits and returns, elder siblings, paternal uncle, mother’s longevity, material enjoyments.
* In Hellenistic, the 11th is a good house
* 11th house is the 10th from the second = financial benefit from career
* Fred said about houses 5 & 11. 5th house is "how I love". 11th house is "how I am loved", which is similar to Noel Tyl's interpretation.
* Michelle did research and collected details on how the following astrologers describe the 11th house:
- Manilius = hope, ambition, triumps, blessed with the temple of Jupiter, friends, gift and children.
- Firmicus = place of good spirit
- Al Biruni = friendship of women
- Lilly = secret hopes and wishes
* We also discussed that the 11th house is the house of circumstances that are beyond your control. It is the house of the king's favorite traditionally. The parliament, dukes and dutches.
* 11th house receives lots of love and support from friends or receiving benefits from group.
- Katarina's and Stuart's charts have a very strong 11th house. Both charts suggest that 11th house is indeed receiving benefits from group based on their experience. The difference however is that, in Katarina's chart, she receives. While in Stuart's charts, he gives.
* Capricorn on the 11th house = giver.
